Small hotels need small sites. There's nothing fancy about this site and its design and its none the worse for it. Nevertheless, for a hotel with a high reputation, the site fails to communicate quality and rather makes you feel that its innlike rather than hotel.
The mistakes are: making the homepage all images rather than text which does not help with search engines, making the windows pup up unneccessarily, hiding the tariff which is really important for prospective guests to the hotel and hiding the strong recommendations away int the site. I would have added them to the homepage.
Suggested actions: simplify the grid design and think more carefully about the images (ie improve them). Keep the site up to date and give us more information about visiting Westray
