Bulgari Hotel in Milan

Home screen
When it comes to press coverage, this hotel has it all, but I feels for all the sleekness and Bulgari quality of the web design, I am not sure that this totally cuts it.
All the expected are there - built in flash, calm music (no cafe costes for Bulgari) and ochre shades.
What it lacks are pictures and the calm that it professes to be about. Everywhere words, press snippets rather than image or space. What I suspect is that once it goes out of fashion - - and they do, then this site wont do the business in terms of money.
I also wonder whether it differentiates the hotel from the mass of other boutique hotels around.

Mar Hall in Scotland

Mar Hall in Scotland :: inside page
Competing with the big players in Scotland such as Turnberry and Gleneagles, Mar Hall is not a resort so much as a classic country house hotel with the benefit of close proximity to Glasgow and airport.
This website seems a throw back to a couple of years - using frames to solve navigation, replacing real text with images of the text, the dull splash screen...
The images are nice, although the rooms look large, but not especially appetising - not sure why tho it may be the daytime photography. The silver and brown extruded button are yuck and styleless.
When I compare this to Bulgari, the design seems so much less finessed, so less caring.
